Hot Tip: Playing golf can be expensive in Hawaii ($200-300). Every
course offers "twilight" rates (after 12-2pm) that are about half
the regular rate. Get to the course a little early because they may get
you started early. Tee off by 2:40 and you can usually finish 18 holes before
dark in the summer. In winter you need to get off by 2.
4th hole at Kapalua Bay Kapalua Plantation Course (Home of the Mercedes Championship) Kaanapali There are five courses on west Maui:
There are more courses on South Maui:
Elleair Maui GC Grand Waikapu CC Maui Country Club Dunes at Maui Lani Pukalani Country Club Kahili Golf Course - I've played this one. It's beautiful and challenging. Waiehu Municipal GC Lanai (across the bay) Cavendish Golf Course Challenge at Manele Experience at Koele Molokai (across the bay about a 90 minute ride) Ironwood Hills Golf Club Kaluakoi Golf Course Hawaii Golf Network - Check here for other islands Trade Winds blow year around. I treat them like a two-club headwind or tailwind. Blowing across the green, I play about a full green's width to allow the ball to drift back onto the green. I also live in Denver (5280 feet) where the air is thinner and the ball goes farther, so I have to add 10% to the distance to get the right club at sea level.
